SYCAMORE AVIATOR YOUTH CHEERLEADING
“Our fundamental belief is that development is achieved through participation. We understand that children are most willing to participate when they have positive experience, thus one of our goals is to make the cheerleading experience age appropriate.”
In conjunction with the Sycamore Aviator Youth Football Organization, a member of the Community Youth Football League, we are proud to announce the fourth season of the Sycamore Aviator Youth Cheerleading Organization. This organization requires the children be in K-6th grades and they live and or go to school within the Sycamore school district.
The season will begin in the middle of July with an informal introductory/informational meeting. The cheerleaders will then attend a 3-4 day camp as a group in the beginning of August. This camp is put on and run by the Sycamore Aviator Varsity Cheerleaders. The dates of the camp will be announced at a later date. The season runs through the beginning to mid-November. There will be practices held 2 days a week (Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6:00pm-7:30pm) in the beginning of the season. When school begins , practices will drop to only Wednesdays. Practices will be held at the Sycamore High School Athletic Fields or in the High School gym during inclement weather. All games are played on Saturday or Sunday and are within a 15-mile radius. Home games are played at Sycamore Stadium behind the Junior High School.
The registration fee will be $95.00 with an additional fee of $90.00 due at the time of the uniform fitting. Cheerleaders returning from last year are not required to pay the additional fee as long as their uniform fits properly. The entire uniform, warm-ups and pom-poms are yours to keep. The uniforms are very similar to the High School Cheerleaders uniforms. The shoes are not included in the fee but are required.
Parent participation is vital to the success of this program. There are many ways to help us achieve our mission at a variety of commitment levels. We are in need of assistance with coaching and “squad moms” for all age groups. Coaching does not mean you have to be able to “cheer”; it is more of a facilitator role. Please note that our squads may not be organized strictly by age or grade level. There may be a mixture of ages and grades to accommodate certain needs of certain families.
